Story mode

Mr. Pesar — a Persian cat exactly as pleased with himself as he looks — has stolen every letter in all of Script Fall and carried off a royal puppy. Win the letters back one town at a time, and bring the captive home.

Choose your hero

Manoi is an Alaskan Malamute puppy — his name is Thai for “small dog” — who delivers the mail from his grandmother’s cottage, about as far from the palace as a puppy can get. Princess Fah — a Golden Retriever puppy with bright tattoos, long braided hair and long painted nails; her name is Thai for “sky” — keeps the Royal Library, and she taught him to read the letters he carries when nobody else would bother with a post pup. Mr. Pesar took whichever of them could teach Script Fall to read again. Play as Manoi and go after Fah, or as Fah and go after the best pupil she ever had. You can switch at any time without losing anything.

Who you meet

Yai, Manoi’s grandmother — an old Alaskan Husky with spectacles and a walking stick — sends you off with her satchel. In the foothills you meet Nok and Nuk, bird sisters whose song Mr. Pesar stole, and they fly with you for the rest of the road. And Mr. Pesar himself, whose name is Persian for “bad”, is always one castle ahead.

Five worlds, five castles

The road runs from the Neon Arcade through the Dustwind Range, the Cartridge Hills and the Glyph Marshes to the Wildwood Keep. Each world is a few stops named like 1-1 and 1-2, each one a different game, with one of Mr. Pesar’s cats holding a castle at the end. You play the whole story at the difficulty you choose, and the levels rise gently as you go.

Stars, ink and Yai’s Clothing Shop

Clear a stop without losing a life for three stars, losing one for two, anything else for one. Losing a stop costs nothing. Every stop you clear pays ink, which buys scarves and hats — they change how your hero looks, never how a game plays. Signed in, your journey and your ink are kept on your account and follow you to any device.
