English typing practice, arcade style

The English track is here for two groups: people learning the Latin alphabet, and people who want typing drills that are not a wall of grey text.

What the tiers cover

Tier one is the home row plus e and i — the keys your fingers should find without looking. Tier two fills in the rest of the lowercase alphabet. Tier three brings capitals, which means the shift key enters your muscle memory. Tier four adds digits and the common punctuation. Tier five is the symbol row, the part most self-taught typists still hunt for. After level 50 whole words fall and the game becomes a speed drill rather than a key-finding drill.

Accuracy is punished, not ignored

A wrong key does not cost a life. It speeds everything already on screen up, which is a closer model of real typing: mistakes do not stop you, they cost you time and momentum. If you find yourself pushing the tempo into a mess, drop back a tier and rebuild the accuracy first.
