In the spirit of the classic missile-defence game.

Stolen letters flutter down onto the village. Type each one to flick ink at it from the battery below that part of the sky — and mind each battery’s ink runs out.

How it plays

Three batteries — you in the middle, Nok and Nuk at the sides — each with its own supply of ink. A burst of ink catches every letter it touches, so letters falling close together can go in one. Every prime-numbered level is a short bonus round: one battery that never runs dry, and paper kites worth extra.

Why it helps you read

Letters fall one after another, so it is the arcade’s steadiest drill for pairing a shape with its key. Choosing which battery to fire from comes free: it is simply the one under the letter.
