Mice Thieves

In the spirit of the classic segmented-crawler shooter.

A line of mice winds down the garden, stealing the letters and leaving cheese behind. Ink a mouse and the line splits in two — stop them before they reach the bottom.

How it plays

Every mouse wears a character. Type one and the lowest mouse wearing it is inked, leaving a wedge of cheese the line has to go round. Hit one in the middle and the line splits into two lines, each heading its own way.

Why it helps you read

A whole line of characters is on screen at once, so you scan, pick the most urgent, and type it — the core skill of reading quickly.
